Student Employment

Richland Community College offers student employment opportunities designed to support and supplement the academic mission and process. These positions provide valuable work experience, on-campus convenience, and financial assistance.

To be eligible for on-campus student employment, including College work-study positions, students must be enrolled in at least six (6) semester hours during the academic term and be in "good academic standing," as defined by the College’s Academic Standards Policy (Policy 4.6). All student employees receive minimum wage for hours worked.

Work Hour Limitations: Students are limited to twenty (20) hours per week while classes are in session and up to, but less than, thirty (30) hours during semester breaks.

All Richland students seeking employment with the College must complete an application and receive authorization to work.

  • College Work-Study Employees: All students who work for Richland Community College as College work-study employees must fill out an application and be authorized to work by Career Services.
  • Federal Work-Study: To be approved for Federal Work-Study, students must complete the application and receive authorization to work from both the Career Services and the Office of Financial Aid.
