Engineering Technology Associate in Applied Science (3000)
The Engineering Technology AAS degree program is an integrated, cross-disciplinary degree program with several specialization paths. The program is designed to prepare the student for employment as industrial engineering technicians. The specialization paths currently include: Electrical Systems, Instrumentation Systems, Mechanical Systems, and CNC Technology. The specialization paths share a common core of general education and technical courses. The four specializations also share a common first semester, allowing the student to enter the program and sample the specialties before deciding which path is the correct one for her or him. Industry is experiencing a shortage of skilled technicians. This program is designed to meet that need with extensive training in electrical, mechanical, and programmable systems. The classroom and laboratories are equipped with up to date and widely used industrial components and systems. The program emphasizes the hands-on skills required for success in this rapidly growing field. Upon successful completion of this program the student will be ready to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair modern industrial systems. Major employers are automated industrial plants, process plants, field service centers, technical sales and training centers.
