Building Maintenance Certificate (300J)
The Building Maintenance Certificate is a career-laddering certificate aimed at providing a basic understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems of buildings and the fundamental hands-on skills to troubleshoot, service, and maintain installed equipment in a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Graduates will learn basic building system concepts and practice the fundamental hands-on skills to prepare for entry-level positions in building maintenance areas. Interrelationships of building systems and safety concerns will be emphasized. With the completions of additional coursework, the graduate can earn additional Engineering Technology-related certificates and/or and Engineering Technology AAS Degree.
Graduation Requirements
- Total Credit Hours: 20 credit hours in courses numbered 100 and above
- Cumulative Grade Point Average: 2.00 (‘C’) or better for all work applicable toward the degree that was completed at Richland
- Residency: 10 credit hours or more at Richland
