Mechanical Systems Certificate (300I)
This career-laddering certificate is designed to prepare the graduate with a thorough knowledge of the skills necessary to be successful in a manufacturing and/or industrial maintenance environment. This certificate program allows the student to concentrate learning in the mechanical power systems found in the manufacturing environment. Graduates will be prepared for the following positions: Maintenance Technician, Production Technician, Fluid Power Mechanic, Hydraulics Technician, Pneumatics Technician, Industrial Machine Repair Technician, Service Technician, and Industrial Mechanic. Graduates will be able to translate an engineer’s designs into systems and projects; collect and analyze data; develop design layouts; inspect work; check, maintain, and repair fluid power equipment; and prepare reports for the engineering team.
This certificate is aligned with the AAS Mechanical Systems Specialty.
Graduation Requirements
- Total Credit Hours: 48 credit hours in courses numbered 100 and above
- Cumulative Grade Point Average: 2.00 (‘C’) or better for all work applicable toward the degree that was completed at Richland
- Residency: 15 credit hours or more at Richland
