Engineering Technology Associate in Applied Science (3000)
The Engineering Technology AAS degree program is an integrated, cross-disciplinary degree program with several specialization paths. The program is designed to prepare the student for employment as industrial engineering technicians. The specialization paths currently include Electrical Systems, Instrumentation Systems, Mechanical Systems, and CNC Technology. The specialization paths share a common core of general education and technical courses. The four specializations also share a common first semester, allowing the student to enter the program and sample the specialties before deciding the best path path for her or him. Industry is experiencing a shortage of skilled technicians. This program is designed to meet that need with extensive training in electrical, mechanical, and programmable systems. The classroom and laboratories are equipped with up-to-date, widely used industrial components and systems. The program emphasizes the hands-on skills required for success in this rapidly growing field. Upon successful completion of this program, the student will be ready to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair modern industrial systems. Major employers are automated industrial plants, process plants, field service centers, technical sales and training centers.
Articulated AAS Degree Programs
Articulated programs are designed for Richland students who intend to transfer to another institution to complete a four-year degree after earning an Associate in Applied Science degree at Richland.
Success Coaches and other staff in the Student Success Center provide extensive transfer information on Richland’s Associate in Applied Science degree articulated transfer agreements (2+2) with various baccalaureate institutions.

Additional Program Considerations
Students attending full time who begin in spring may not finish in a two-year time frame. All AAS degrees include a required minimum of 15 general education credits.
