NURS 115 Nursing Skills
introduces Associate Degree Nursing students to fundamental nursing skills that will be utilized in the care of clients throughout the lifespan. Skills include, but are not limited to, physical assessment, urinary catheterizations, nasogastric tubes and feeding, phlebotomy, intravenous and central line care, injections, tracheostomy care, wound and dressing care, and medication administration and safety. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees (credit hours 2.0, lecture hours 1.0, lab hours 2.0).
Prerequisite
admission to the Associate Degree Nursing program or and completion of/or concurrent enrollment in
NURS 111,
NURS 110, Psych 110, and
BIOL 201
