Academic Load
Students enrolled in 12 credit hours or more in any semester are considered full-time.
An academic load of 12-18 semester hours is considered normal for full-time students enrolled in fall and spring semesters. For summer, an academic load of 3-8 credit hours is typical.
Part-time students are those students enrolled in fewer than 12 credit hours. Students with jobs or other outside commitments should limit their credit loads accordingly.
Students planning an overload of courses (more than 17 credit hours) must have at least a “B” average for 12 or more credit hours during the previous semester. All such overloads must be approved by a Success Coach or the Registrar before registration. Success Coaches and the Registrar are located in the Student Success Center, Room N117, and are available by appointment.
