Microsoft Professional Preparation Certificate (011W)

The Microsoft Professional Preparation Certificate is designed to prepare students for Microsoft certification exams and careers in modern Windows-based IT environments. This focused 16-credit- hour program provides comprehensive training in Microsoft technologies, including Windows client and server operating systems, network management, and system administration across both on-premise and cloud platforms. Students will develop expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting hybrid Windows environments, gaining hands-on experience with traditional domain infrastructures as well as cloud-based services. The curriculum covers essential skills in user account management, group policies, Active Directory services, system security, and network administration within Microsoft's hybrid infrastructure model. This program aligns with key Microsoft certification paths, particularly preparing students for the AZ-800 (Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure) and AZ-801 (Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services) exams, which together lead to the AZ-802 (Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate) certification. Students also gain valuable cross-platform knowledge through Linux fundamentals, enhancing their versatility in mixed computing environments. The program combines hands-on lab experiences with theoretical knowledge to prepare students for Microsoft certification success and immediate employment in organizations utilizing hybrid Microsoft technologies.

Graduation Requirements

  1. Total Credit Hours: 16 credit hours in courses numbered 100 and above
  2. Cumulative Grade Point Average: 2.00 (‘C’) or better for all work applicable toward the degree that was completed at Richland
  3. Residency: 8 credit hours or more at Richland Community College
