SURGT 128 Intro to the Clinical Experience

applies theoretical and laboratory concepts in the hospital setting under the supervision of RCC faculty members. Students rotate through various surgical departments and assist/observe staff in their roles/duties within the surgical arena. Students demonstrate basic knowledge and application in patient identification, care, and transport. Methods of disinfection and sterilization and environmental disinfection of the operating room are applied. This course offers students clinical experiences in the hospital setting at the end of the spring semester following completion of SURGT 125. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees (credit hours 1.0, lab hours 3.0).

completion of SURGT 110; concurrent enrollment in or completion of SURGT 120, SURGT 125, and BIOL 201 [grade of 'C' or higher]
