ENGT 120 Process Control Fundamentals

is a practical, hands-on class, centered on the study and application of instrumentation and process controls and systems in the industrial environment. This course begins at the introductory level with basic measurement techniques for temperature, pressure, level, and flow. Current loops, PID control and calibration are discussed and applied in the lab. Quizzes are given regularly and include lab activities. Selected lab activities are taken for grades. The course emphasizes the on-the-job knowledge and skills required to troubleshoot and maintain modern process control systems. Safe work habits are emphasized throughout the course. This course is applicable toward all certificates, AAS, ALS (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 2.0, lab hours 2.0).
