ECE 207 Observing and Assessment

provides a documentation system for students and practitioners in early childhood education who work with infants through second-grade children. The course gives a child development overview while outlining a documentation method. The course emphasizes to organize and plan intentionally, week by week, to build a Portfolio for each child, filling it with various pieces of evidence that document the child's development and behavior. Students will learn and implement a manageable plan that will help gather documentation on all the children in the class or group, in all the developmental areas. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 3.0).
