Critical Care Transport Certificate (2068)

Critical Care Transport is a certificate program that prepares paramedics, nurses, respiratory therapists, and physicians to care for patients in a critical care inter-hospital transport setting. The curriculum is derived from the International Association of Flight and Critical Care Paramedics (IAFCCP) and Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association (ASTNA) Critical Care Transport Core Curriculum and will prepare students to sit for the CCP-C, FP-C, CTRN, and CFRN exams. This program meets the initial Advanced Formal Education requirement for IDPH Tier III Critical Care Transport.

Certificates less than 16 credit hours are not eligible for financial aid.

Prerequisites to Apply

  1. Eligible for ENGL 101 and MATH 110.
  2. Currently Illinois licensed Paramedic, RN, RRT, MD/DO, or other student on a case-by-case evaluation.
  3. Documentation of 2000 hours of patient care experience at the ALS, ER, ICU and/or CCU level.
  4. Currently certified in CPR, ACLS, PALS/PEPP/ENPC, and ITLS/PHTLS/TNCC/TNS.

Graduation Requirements

  1. Total Credit Hours: 8.5 credit hours in courses numbered 100 and above
  2. Cumulative Grade Point Average: 2.00 (‘C’) or better for all work applicable toward the degree that was completed at Richland
  3. Residency: 4 credit hours or more at Richland Community College
  4. Coursework: Achieve ‘C’ or better in all prerequisite and other program courses
