NURS 111 Nursing Foundations
provides students an introduction to professional nursing practice and helps students build skills to foster success within the nursing program. Study techniques, test taking skills, time management, medical terminology, critical thinking, and professionalism are emphasized. Students also work to develop professional writing skills using evidence-based research and APA formatting and style. Concepts related to culture and diversity, informatics, safety, ethical, and legal issues in nursing practice are discussed. NCLEX preparation is also included. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees (credit hours 2.0, lecture hours 2.0).
