SIGN 204 Interpreting 2
conveys signed messages into spoken English and vice versa with in-depth and extensive practice of consecutive sign language interpreting. Emphasis is on voice interpreting process, vocal control, voicing techniques, vocal expression, word choice, contexual changes, and development of expressive skills from English to ASL. Ethical decision making is reviewed in regards to interpreting choices. Ethical scenarios are analyzed. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees; group requirements include humanities (AAS and ALS only); areas of concentration include foreign language (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 3.0).
