NURS 111 Nursing Foundations
provides students an introduction to professional nursing practice. This course helps students build skills to foster success within the nursing program. Study techniques, test taking skills, time management, and critical thinking are emphasized. Team building, delegation, and conflict resolution exercises will enhance professional communication and collaboration. Concepts related to safety, ethical and legal issues in nursing practice and informatics are discussed. Students also work to develop professional writing skills using evidence-based research and APA formatting and style. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees (credit hours 2.0, lecture hours 2.0).
