HIST 112 European Civ: The Modern Era

examines the impact of intellectual, artistic, technological, and political developments from the rise of absolutist monarchies in the 17th century to the present day. Particular emphasis is given to the Enlightenment, Liberalism, the growth of Nationalism, the Industrial Revolution, Imperialism, World Wars I and II, and the decline of Colonialism. Attention is also given to major artistic, musical, and literary trends.
