ED 103 Introduction to Teaching

surveys what a teaching career entails to assist students in making an informed decision about whether teaching is the right career path. It explores the career of teaching with basic information about education, its history, finances, and current issues as well as the perspectives and requirements of teaching as a career. Five hours of field experience in diverse K-12 public school classroom settings are required. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees; group requirements include social science (AAS and ALS only); areas of concentration include teacher education (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 3.0).
