ENGT 211 PLC Applications & Data Acquisiton

centered on the study and application of Programmable Logic Controllers in the industrial environment. This course assumes prior experience with or knowledge of Programmable Logic Control systems. Topics include analog I/O, block transfers, remote I/O, remote chassis configuration, DH+ and RIO communications, PLC networking, RSLinks driver configuration, indexed addressing, indirect addressing, message instructions and processor status file concepts. The course includes a study and application of SCADA/HMI software. The course emphasizes the on-the-job knowledge and skills required to troubleshoot and program PLC-based control systems. Safe work habits are emphasized throughout the course. This course is applicable toward all certificates, AAS, ALS (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 2.0, lab hours 2.0).
