Early Childhood Education
Enrollment in the Early Childhood Education AAS and advanced certificate is suspended. Richland will not admit new students into this degree program or certificate. Students enrolled in the degree program prior to June 1, 2020, will have until August 1, 2021, to complete all program requirements.
Childcare and preschool teacher assistants and workers play a vital role in the development of children. What children learn and experience during their early years can shape their views of themselves and the world and can affect their later success or failure in school, work, and their personal lives.
Richland Community College is entitled by Gateways to Opportunities to offer the ECE Credential Level 2. The Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Credential provides students with the education, work, and practical experience that Early Childhood Education employers seek in qualified staff. Please consult with the Success Coach for information about the credential and required coursework.
This is a career and technical education certificate. Some of the courses may not transfer to four-year institutions.
