2025-2026 Course Catalog

Dropping a Course

Administrative Drop/Withdrawal

During the first nine days of a 16-week course, an instructor may drop a student who has failed to attend the first two class sessions or more. For shorter classes see the Cashier's office for the drop deadline.

Prior to submitting a final grade roster, an instructor may withdraw a student who has failed to meet attendance standards or attain sufficient progress in the course, but they are not required to do so.

Student-Initiated Drop/Withdrawal

During the first nine days of a 16-week course, a student may request to drop a course by contacting their Student Success Coach or the Student Success Center. After the drop with a refund deadline, students withdrawing from a course will have a grade of "W" recorded on their permanent academic transcript. Students are responsible for submitting the withdrawal to their Student Success Coach or the Student Success Center. Classes shorter than 16 weeks have an earlier drop with a refund deadline. See the Cashier's office for the drop deadline.

Withdrawing from the College

Students withdrawing after the ninth day of a 16-week semester will have a grade of "W" recorded on their permanent academic transcript. Students are responsible for submitting the withdrawal to their Student Success Coach or the Student Success Center. All withdrawals must be filed by the withdrawal date listed in the Academic Calendar.

Students are advised to contact their Success Coach before dropping or withdrawing from a course or the College. Additionally, students with financial aid or a Foundation scholarship are strongly encouraged to reach out to those offices before dropping or withdrawing to determine how the schedule change will impact aid received.
