SIGN 201 American Sign Language 3

reviews intermediate-level ASL skills, vocabulary and grammar usages developed in SIGN 102. Special attention is on expressive and receptive skills, pronominalizations, classifiers, pluralizations, and temporal and distributional aspects of the language. The development of a core vocabulary and basic grammar toward functional communication and appropriate cultural choices are emphasized. Information about the deaf community and deaf culture is included. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees; group requirements include humanities (AAS and ALS only); areas of concentration include foreign language (credit hours 4.0, lecture hours 4.0).
