HIT 140 Medical Terminology
focuses on vocabulary used in medicine. Students learn the structure, function, and terms related to diagnosis, pathology, and treatments for each body system. Emphasis is placed on anatomy, common signs and symptoms, pathological conditions, diagnostic techniques, treatments, procedures, and common medical abbreviations. To transfer to Richland, the course must have been completed at an Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI)-accredited institution and must have been completed within the previous five (5) years from the time of transfer. Students cannot receive credit for both
HIT 140 and
HLTH 140. This course is applicable toward all certificates, AAS, ALS (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 3.0).
