SIGN 203 Interpreting I
introduces the skills and techniques for interpreting, involving deaf culture, the code of ethics in interpreting situations, laws affecting deaf clients, interpreter's responsibilities, and the use of assistive technology to communicate with deaf and hard-of-hearing people for pre-recorded voice to live signing, pre-recorded sign to live voicing, real-time voice-to-sign interpreting, and real-time sign-to-voice interpreting. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees; group requirements include humanities (AAS and ALS only); areas of concentration include foreign language (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 3.0).
