POLS 110 American National Government

uses a contemporary approach to American political behavior by viewing the forces that shaped our constitution, modern attitudes of liberalism and conservatism, the role played by political parties and the independent voter, Congress and the impact of special interest groups on that body, the modern presidency, and the important role the media plays in modern politics. Current topics of political interest are discussed throughout this course. This course is required for state teacher certification. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees; group requirements include social science; areas of concentration include political science, social science (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 3.0).
